The Long Weekend Ahead...

I am looking forward to this weekend!!!  Not because we have any grand plans or a trip planned, but because WE DON'T!  ;-)

We hit the pool yesterday.... the kids had a great time and they loved having Grace with us. I often let Ally take a friend to keep her busy, so I can devote the time to Luke, but yesterday the three of them played nicely and Ally was a huge help with taking Grace to the bathroom for me... and generally keeping an eye on them at all times. She can be a great mother's helper right now!

I was toying with the idea of hitting the pool today, but it's going to feel like 105 out there at some points during the day.... and I don't think I have the energy to cope in that kind of heat!  We also have a lot to do around here.  I am letting Ally have two girls spend the night tonite so she needs to clean her room and help with the basement.... she and Luke are in her room right now (Luke has to help because he and Grace got out all the Littlest Pet Shop toys yesterday - and Ally doesn't like doing anything alone!) and the music is blaring... and I am smiling cuz it's the ONLY way to clean! Dancing and cleaning go together like peas and carrots.  :-)

They are headed to the basement now..... and they carried the iPod and Luke says to Ally, "Let's dance as we walk down the stairs..."  :-))))))))

Gonna see how much work I can get out of them today....... so far, so good!!!!!

We are heading the Lumen Christi home opener (football) tonight. It is going to be a warm one!  Some older brothers of Ally's friends are playing.... and I know their moms are force hydrating them all day long!  Ally got a new LC shirt for the game and is giddy to go.  Of course, she won't watch a single minute of the game.  Maybe the cheerleaders for a moment or two... but mostly she will be off running around with the girls.  ;-)  Ah.... good times. Should be a nice night either way... and allow them to be nice and tired so they just pass out when they get here right?  :-)))))))

Ally has announced that she wants to get her ears pierced this weekend!  We shall see if she ACTUALLY does it........  ;-) I will take her as often as she wants and if she chickens out time and time again, so be it.  Many of her friends have theirs done.  Peer pressure.  She loves jewelry and all things girlie, so this seems fitting for her.  I have absolutely no idea how it will go!!!!!

I booked our fall session with Nicole this past week.  So, my goal for the weekend is to find outfits for the family to wear for our "Urban Session."  Jane was helping me yesterday and has me leaning toward a black and white or black, white and grey..... with some blue thrown in there for good measure. Gap has some cute stuff... but absolutely nothing available in Ally's size.  A huge bummer.  I'm at a loss as to what to do.... so maybe a trip to Eastwood or something.  Already checked Briarwood.... and all they had were extra smalls and extra larges. Definitely picked over by the back to school crowd.

Other than that... I'd like to get some organizing done around here and start to bring up some fall clothes and put away the summer, summery stuff I just won't wear anymore.....

In other SUPER fun news.... Scott got a spinning bike for home. He absolutely loves to ride his real bike, time permitting... and spin.  He used to take classes at lunch, but his work schedule doesn't allow for that anymore... he's just too busy at work and has many 1:00 pm meetings these days.... I wanted to start doing something regularly... cuz the old metabolism is slowing down.... and I have put on fine layer of fat - everywhere.  ;-)  So... he is going to teach me and be my personal trainer. I have gotten into Yoga.  LOVE it... and take that an noon on Tuesdays.  Looking for another evening I could do it too.... and then, gonna spin two and work up to three days a week....  I am looking forward to getting a good routine going!  It's something I can do when I get home.... thinking of doing it the two days Ally has gymnastics and Scott brings her home.... then, Luke just has to learn to play in the playroom next to me.... or color or something!!!!  But, then again... it might be easier if Ally is home to help out... we will have to see what works best.

It's just so hard to get to a gym or a class.  Evenings are almost impossible...and I can't work out too late... it gets me all worked up and I can't sleep.... there are after school activities and homework and we are the family that (gasp) actually has dinner together most nights and it is pretty important to us. So, we gotta find a way to work a little exercise in there somewhere... and I need to make it a habit and get used to it... and then, it will slowly increase and take up more time......

Man, I am rambling......  ;-)

Okay...... the tears have started..... time to go intervene.... the good times only last so long!!!!!!

Glad you guys eat dinner to gether...that was always important to Doug and I too and I still try to do it as often as possible when the kids are here. Life is too busy and it's important to take time for each other so that you don't have a house full of strangers growing up together. So glad that you made it so that I can read your blog and keep up with you guys. I remember taking Erin and Maria to get there ears pierced...what fun. Uncle Doug did mine one Halloween night when we were taking care of my little brothers, John and Steve. That took a long time cuz I hate needles!!!. Take care and have fun! Love you all!!!
