Work is BUSY and I should actually be working right now. I have spent the majority of this week in meetings and that trend will continue throughout the week. I'm going up to Lansing tomorrow for more meetings... and Friday I am in the office all day, but in meetings! I need to work in my "free" time to keep up! UGH!
Oh well.... I really do love my job. Have I ever even DESCRIBED my job to those of you who don't even KNOW me? Ha! Probably not. Well.... for those of you that do know, you can skip this part of my post. For the rest of you, I work at Consumers Energy in our Environmental Services Department. My official title is Environmental Policy Analyst. My primary policy issue right now is Climate Change. I coordinate our current voluntary climate change efforts, which include voluntary reporting of our greenhouse gas emissions and reduction efforts that we make corporate-wide. As climate change is truly the hot topic of the day, I am pretty busy reading proposed legislation and trying to keep up on the daily changes of what's going on around the country as states and regions go out ahead of the federal government and attempt to regulate greenhouse gases, in particular, carbon dioxide. In addition to climate change, I also follow water policy and brownfield redevelopment closely. I work on any and all of our environmental communications efforts. I do a great deal of benchmarking of our environmental programs. I am also just starting on coordinating a state-wide environmental education effort for organizations that we work with externally.
Honestly... I love my job! It's not fun every day.... but I must say, most days, it is! It allows me to do a lot of the things I love to do.... I interact with people all day! I get to talk a lot! I write a lot. I really do enjoy it....
Wow.... that was probably boring huh? :-)))
Anyway....... the moral of the story. It's been a busy week at work and blogging has fallen to the wayside! I'm sorry!
Some quick updates are that Luke has started clapping... and I must say, it's pretty darn cute! He stopped sleeping through the night as quickly as he started and I could really use a good night's sleep! Ally is doing well... she still loves both school and soccer! She has her second game this Saturday at 9:00 am. We have to be there at 8:30 though this week for pictures. YIKES!!!!
I'm reading "Are You There Vodka, It's Me Chelsea" and it's hilarious... in fact... I'm getting off the computer to go read now! Goodnight!
